PC Board Start

I’ve been busy traveling, but I’m home for the holidays so I should get some more time to work on this.

Even though I’m an EE, I don’t have access to a nice CAD program right now, so I downloaded Eagle PCB.  It works on the Mac & the limited version (which is sufficient for this project) is free for non-commercial use.

Eagle comes with a good library of parts, but I still needed to add 3 unique parts: the flex connector (J1), the crystal (X1), and the inductor (L1).

As I expected, it looks like there is plenty of room on the board. I’ll still try to leave as much space as possible in the event that I design a smaller case.

I’ve still got some electrical testing to do before I commit to routing this design.
